March 31, 2013 at 3:40 am in reply to: Interfit Super Cool-lite 5 to light greenscreen? Thanks, Rick. I think I will go with a pair of 9’s, as you suggest:

I’m also thinking I should get some 1/4 minus green gels so I could use the lights for normal applications, too, if the occasion arose.
How would you attach the gels to something like this? Is there a way to do the job with a 20″ x 24″ gel? Or maybe you need two sheets held together with clear tape and clipped to the outside of the octobox?

Whoops. For some reason, posts below on USB did not appear until after I had posted my question. I conclude USB is not a great option.
-
I have also seen it suggested to just use USB. Would be interested in opinions on that route.

Thanks, Dennis. Sorry, when I saw “fixture” I was thinking about the pipe to attach the light to, whereas it actually means the light itself. I do have the ARRI Fresnels already.
So, I think the conclusion is to go ahead and get c-clamp mentioned above and use it with a 2″ pipe, even though to me that seems kind of overkill-ish.
-
Thanks, Dennis! I actually haven’t installed a fixture yet, so I am free to use a different fixture and a different clamp. This is just the clamp I ran across that looked like it would work well with ARRI 650 Fresnels (and smaller like 350 and 150). A two inch pipe seems like more than I should need. I’m thinking a one inch pipe would do. Is there another clamp you know of that would work well for that?

August 2, 2012 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Choice of greenscreen fabric: “Tempo” or “Poly Pro”Got this info from laraghouse:
There’s really no plus or minus but here are some differences.
* Tempo is 5′ wide and poly Pro is 10′
* Poly Pro Is rated and certified FR (flame retardant) and Tempo is not
* Tempo is light weight but denser in size due to being a foam product
* Poly Pro is the same weight and feel as Commando and folds down a lot smaller.
