I’d look at your sensitivity of your MOUSE Click and maybe increase it by at least the same time as your KB reacts. What do you think?”
I would be inclined to agree with you, however as I stated in my opening post, I also have Movie Studio 12 installed and it does not have the issue (also using the VEGAS Titles & Text) so it seems to be a problem exclusive to VP15.

March 21, 2019 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Text animation extermely buggy in Vegas Pro 15[Graham Bernard] “Hi Michael, I can’t repro this. ALL KFs remain selected, they may not APPEAR to be, but they are. You can confirm this by seeing the the diamonds appear slightly larger/bigger. I checked that they are in fact selected by moving a Block of them down the Timeline. For me the Selection remains Selected.”
Hmm, your text tool looks different from mine. Anyhow, here’s screenrecording demonstrating my issue. (At the end, when I delete them, that’s me holding the mouse button while pressing delete on my keyboard).

My apologies for forgetting to get back to you – I turned off GPU acceleration and the problem went away. Things are a little bit slower but I can live with it 🙂
-
Ok so here’s what I’ve found:
If I start a new project with GPU acceleration enabled, import the problematic file, drag it onto the timeline, sleep, and resume: I get a red screen without a crash.
If I start a new project without GPU acceleration enabled, import the problematic file, drag it onto the timeline, sleep, and resume: It seems to be fine still.
So the question then becomes, why does GPU accel break things, and how much of a performance benefit am I loosing with it off?
-
[George Dean] ” I would turn off sleep mode, as that may disconnect some of the resources Vegas needs”
Well, that’s not really an option for me as I daily use sleep mode because I keep a lot of things open and I don’t want to leave my computer on 24×7. Besides, Vegas really shouldn’t have any problem with sleep mode – sleep mode keeps everything in RAM. I’ve written a few desktop programs and Android applications, and I literally had to do NOTHING to ensure compatibility with sleep. It would be utterly disgraceful if the Vegas software engineers didn’t bother to test their software to make sure it works with sleep mode.
-
I’m so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, I’ve just been really busy ☹
So, as stupid as this is, when I tried to perform organized tests to isolate the problem, I couldn’t reproduce it anymore!
However, today something even stranger than the red screen & hang happened: a red screen without a hang. There was only one file in the project at the time, and literally the only thing I had done was drag it onto the timeline, sleep the computer, and then when I woke it back up Vegas was showing the red preview screen without having hung.
Here’s the media info for that one file:

Ok, will do. FYI It may be a few days before I’m able to test.
-
Hmmm OK. Should I test it with or without GPU accel? Probably with so as to limit the variables?
Also, sometimes when closing Vegas while nothing is open, it crashes – which makes no sense at all….. -
Hi George,
No, I haven’t tried that, but I will ☺
