Thanks for the info, huge help moving forward with FCPX 10.1. I remember all to well searching through hundreds of edits and source material trying to identify why FCP7 would not complete an output.

BTW, the 4500 images I used came from a GoPro camera set on time-lapse, the images are 3200×2400 72dpi. While in my original event to string these images together before making a quicktime file, FCPX brought my entire system to a screeching halt, all apps even the finder were extremely slow.

I’ve made a quicktime and working in a different event now and running smoothly, so far.

On with my tutorials and first FCPX 10.1 project.

Hmmm, what would be considered a LARGE file?

I wonder if you select to optimize media when importing still images if FCPX would resize the still image.

    Thanks for the input.

After lots of head scratching over this issue I decided to trash prefs and this fixed the problem of clips not appearing in my import window.

Now I can continue with my tutorials and my first FCPX project.

Hmmm, not sure about GoPro tools, they play in the finder. Why wouldn’t they appear in the import window.

Forgot all about “dragging” to the import window, I’ll try that. Why wouldn’t they appear in the import window? Any reason whatsoever, unless theres a problem with FCPX.

No solution found, most likely faulty tape and/or bad tracking.

When I launch DW from newly downloaded ver it prompts me to “uncheck Ignore…”. Under get info and at bottom of window the “ignore” is not there. I see it on my other drives but not Sys drive.

I believe this requirement is only necessary in download ver, not from disc?

No “Ignore ownership on this volume”. Very strange, I don’t know if there’s some setting to cause this?

Glad you brought that up, I’ve got a question.

I have a old version, then updated it in 09 for Intel. Today I purchased current version and opted for download and DVD, The DVD arrives in about a week. When I begin to run the download version it prompts me indicating the need to deselect the ownership in the get info screen. When I get info there is no ownership at all listed like with my other drives. Kinda strange. Am I missing something?

    Any thoughts?
