The gain setting on the camera i think someone had changed the low setting to +3 or +6 and our camera person did not realize it i guess. I am playing with color corrector, a slight blur and fooling around with the gamma… thanks for the help!

Close and Open final cut.
and also try to free up some space on the drive you are working on.
If it has minimal or no space the render won’t work correctly.. i’ve had this problem before and ended up just transfering everything to a new totally open drive and havent had the problem since.
Also remember to set the scratch discs EVERY time you open it to the same folder or it will lose render files
