What is your recommended bit-rate for 720 h264 live streaming?
You tube HD on demand streaming starts around 800 kbit/s, I think.
Does wirecast produce comparable quality (H264)at same bit rate like for example Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 produces in 1 Pass/ CBR?

Would around 1Mbit be enough for wirecast to produce decent quality?

Actually my laptop has a native USB 3.0 port (not via express card) and also has the required X58 chipset.
(Sager np7280s1)
So from the USB 3.0 requirement viewpoint it should work.

Did I understand you right that Wirecast and the Blackmagic intensity shuttle worked together on the HP envy laptop?

Yes, I have 2.5 Mbit dedicated upload bandwidth and also users who ask for Hd like live video.

THanks for the help. Yes, you are right, the camera does send out a stream in p mode, but in the meanwhile I found out that Premiere Pro CS4 can’t direclty capture DVCPRO HD. Only Adobe OnLocation can. On Location creates an AVI file and I still need to find out if it is kind of the same quality like the P2 files recorded to the camera’s P2 card.

I aso tried Telestream Wirecast and it also doesn’t work with DVCPRO HD signals. Will try if it works with DVCPRO signal.

Another way to go would be to use software like Telestream’s wirecast. IT can handle multiple cameras as long as you have enough Firewire ports on your computer and your computer has a fast processor.
I tried it with 2 hvx 200A in SD mode and it worked nicely.
At the moment I am trying to have 2 HD signals, but I can’t manage to get the digital HD stream out of the camera via Firewire. Anyone has experience with that?
