It looks like your best work around would be recording your voice over with quicktime and then importing the files and adding an effect in FCE after since you do not have Soundtrack pro.

It appears the only work around is going into Soundtrack pro and doing the voice overs… I was using it fine up until 2 days ago and then this happened… I wonder if it happened on my imac at home as well now…

IT WORKS GREAT WHEN I VIEW IT ON IWEB… BUT THEN IT DOESN”T WORK WORK AFTER I LOAD IT ONLINE!!! WHY???

I am trying to capture in Final Cut 7 in a macbook pro with a Firewire 800 to Firewire mini 4 pin to my Canon XH-A1. I tried all the different HDV capture settings and this should not be a capture settings issue (or at least it should not be) I am in complete confidence that the deck is working fine because I tried it on an older IMac with the same software. The only difference was the cable I used. Is there a specific setting needed to use to capture footage with firewire 800 in the HDV1080i60 capture setting??
