Yes it turns out (over here at least) that the firewire 800 to 4pins don’t read but if I use a firewire 400 (with an 800 adapter on the end) to 4pin, that works.

My ineptitude was the cause all along. I had the the SDI cables reversed going into the HDP2. Picture is up and running. Many, many thanks.

Just climbed back there, nope the light isn’t glowing.
Does that mean I missed a step with the connections of the box?

First, I tried to let it be set to auto, and see if it discovered the specs on its own, then I attempted it with these settings. I mixed and matched the settings a few more times in an attempt to see something.

Yes, and it then seemed that the problem was that I was missing the mini converter software, which I alleviated, but did not solve the problem.

I have been reading up since I placed the post and from what I can gather it seems like the newer Mac’s don’t want to read certain cables (i.e. this CGI Gear 4pin to 800 cable I am using). Very weird stuff. Have you ever heard of that?
