  • Rich,

We actually have this switcher as well. We dont get too complicated on it, but I may be able to answer any questions you have about it. We actually had a Panasonic rep come in and do training with our staff. I must say, however, that he was well versed in the technical specs of the switcher… but not so much in teaching. We found it generally unhelpful. Our best bet has been to just sit down and play… seems like you have done that already. Good luck.

    Gentlemen,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for my long response. I should add some details. The videos were provided to me by the client. Not quite sure what format they were shot in, etc. The freezing issue seemed to happen regardless of the file at hand. For example, it even occurred during music playback for the main act.

Restarting my Mac fixed the problem, but wanted to check with others to see similar problems had occurred for them.

October 7, 2015 at 7:50 pm in reply to: Advice on using HDMI for live projection

I echo the previous posters advice about HD/3GSDI. We use that for many of our HD shows. We tried to go with HD cat6 to DVI, but we never got it to function properly. Plus many of our switchers and cameras have SDI out or in, meaning we only have to convert once. We usually buy the converter boxes on Amazon and have had great success with them. Like anything, bring extra

Big thing to remember about those boxes. Make sure the send or receive 3GSDI. We don’t have much that generates full 1080P accept for MacBooks. But if the box doesn’t do 3G speed you won’t get your 1090P/60hz signal. At least not reliably
