I’m on a mac. I can only access these commands with a mouse right-click. Neither the menu (grayed out) nor the keyboard shortcuts work.
Another (possibly related) issue. Command-left click, normally a mac way to access a “right click” menu, ONLY works on the viewer menu (grab still, etc) and not anywhere else in the color interface.

I am not on MC6 yet, but as I understand it, Avid can do a “fast import” and simply re-wrap the prores into MXF. This is much faster than transcoding.
Not sure about linking back to r3d, though. You should experiment. If the file names have not been changed, you may be able to link back.
Here is a thread I found:

Oh well…
Yeah, I’ll have to look into upgrading my card. I need 2 dvi ports, though.
I’ll look into some of the cards on the recommended list.
I appreciate the quick replies.

Thanks for helping.
My card is an ATI x1900. Am I out of luck?

It’s a great product. I use it every day. Makes FCP life SO much easier.

Never-mind! I just found a fantastic review of the product that answered all my questions:

But Jeremy, if you have anything to add from your own experience, I’d love to hear.

Jeremy: I’m about to purchase one of these units and I have a couple really rudimentary questions about workflow with the Cache-A.
I would like to archive raw camera dailies as they come to us each day, say from a RED shoot, after they’ve been loaded for the editing app.
Would I simply attach the dailies drive to the Cache-A (or go through the network) and tell it “copy these files to tape now”, or would I copy the files to the internal HD of device and have it write to tape once I’ve got all the dailies for a given job or have enough gathered to fill one LTO tape?
And if I copy to tape directly, can I then add the next day’s work to the tape to the same tape, until the tape is full? In other words, do I have to dump to a tape all at once, or can I keep adding files over time as the software keeping track of what’s added to the tape?
Any practical workflow advice from your experience would be really helpful. I’m brand new to LTO tech, as I guess you can tell.
Thanks

Thank you all for your quick and helpful responses.
I had simply forgotten that Primatte is available in FCP, although without the cool interface available in Motion.

OOPS
Nevermind.
You CAN paint on the matte. When the output of primatte is “matte” as opposed to “processed foreground” or whatever, the matte is treated as a graphic element and can be treated like any other b&w graphic.
I shoulda tried harder before I posted.

You need Andy’s Simple Crop. If I remember right, it allows you to adjust edge feathering on individual sides.
