I’ve just started having the same problem, and I blame dirty tape heads. In the log and capture window, it looks as though there was a dropped frame and the audio skips a bit. With my setup, the L&C just starts a new clip, but I lose enough frames around the error/gap to make the clip unusable 🙁 I used a cleaning cassette when I noticed it and hope it won’t happen next time, but the tapes that were recorded for this latest job are screwed. Try running a cleaning cassette and if that doesn’t work, you might have to get your deck camera serviced. That’s what I’m looking forward to…

Here’s a quick .png I made that will do the trick, I think. Use the scale options to make it the right size and add a little opacity, depending on what’s behind it. Not super, but it works. This one is made for HDV, by the way, so the .png is interlaced.
