Thank you Adolfo for the quick reply. I did figure it out myself after hours of googling on the net and giving up on Adobe. I checked my media core files and removed all 3rd party plugins one by one and the culprit was Magic bullet looks. Now the software opens and runs BUT….. now i am unable to update to the newer version. This is sickening ,. It does not give me an error message just “unable to update”. It updates all the 3rd party components but does not update to the newer version. So what do i do now?
*** For those of you who find themselves in the same situation. PLEASE save your airtime by not bothering to call Adobe (I spent 2 Full days trying to get a solution) Others have reported months. Google Adobe Tech Support Complaints if you dont believe me . Anyway, this is what i did and it worked on the Mac.
>>Under your HDD click LIbrary

Create a folder on your desktop and move all 3rd party plugins from your plugins folder to the desktop. Then all you do is re-start AE and it should come up. Then you have to return the plugins one by one back to the plugins folder while you restart and close AE until you find the problem.
Alternatively you can run a software Adobe provides (which took a supervisor at tech support to tell me) called ASA (Adobe support Advisor) and it will let you know excatly whats wrong. Dont rely on it either. It never fixed my problem
