I have the same tapedeck… Go in the menu select “IN/OUT REC”. scroll down to “i.LINK CONV” select it. you can now turn “ON” or “OFF” the “i,LINK” (Firewire, IEEE). Make sure you unplug the firewire cable prior to switching the settings as per on screen instructions. After turning off the “i,LINK” feature, pluge the firewire cable back into the tape deck. set your capture settings in premiere to “SONY” and “standard”. this shoud do the trick.

    Hi Amit,

When your using the multicamera monitor, and you want to preview the 4 clips from the 4 camers (the 4 smaller monitors on the left). you’ll need to click on the play button. I don’t believe the space bar short cut will function in the multi-camera monitor mode. If you want to create some multi-camera edits, then do the following. Activate the multicam monitor, click on record, (the red button next to the shuttle bar). This will enable the multicam monitor to prepar to record your edits. when your ready to record any multicam edits, simply click on the play button then click on any of the smaller 4 monitors on the left in the multicam monitor, that particular clip will be added to the timeline. Keep clicking on any of the 4 smaller monitors every time you want to use a different camera angle and add that clip to the timeline. when your done, you’ll have a timelime that will have the edited clips in the order of your clicks. Way cool!

Check with Adobe Tech support to verify the spacebar issue.

    Good luck,

    Mel

    Hi Jon

I think I may have figured out my problem… I just recently bought a new computer. A Gateway FX6801-03 machine. See link for specs. (https://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668284.php). It’s running Windows Home Premium, 64 bit. And I use Adobe Producton Premium CS3.
Which is a 32 bit program. I’ll be upgrading next week to Production Premium CS4. I hope this will cure my head aches. I’ll keep you posted.

    Thanks again

    Hi Jon,

Yes, you are correct in saying, that I can not click or select sequence #01 to nest on or in the multi-cam sequence in the timeline. I was going to try a new project with a slightly new name to see if that helps.

I’m wondering if Premiere CS3 allows only 4 clips maximum, in the project panel in order to create a
multi-cam edit? Or is more that 4 clips permitted in the project panel? I have 2 b-roll clips and 4 main clips.

    Thank you,

    Mel

    Hi Jon,

Please re-read the 2nd paragraph in my post. (I’m unable to click on sequence 01 to drag and drop on the multicam sequence in the timelime). I do know how to set up multicam edits in premiere. but for some reason I’m unable to left click on sequence 01 in the project panal.

    Thank you,

    Hi benni,

As far as I’m aware, 4 camera tracks is all you get in multicam editing with CS3. In Final Cut Pro they allow up to 6 camera tracks.

    Good Luck,

  • Hi Joe,
I just had to deal with the same issue on a wedding video I did.
It’s a simple fix. Click on edit up in the tool bar. Then click on Preferences, then click on General. About half down in the General preference box click and check the box that says; “Default scale to frame size”. Now click ok and close the general preference box.
Now you’ll have to re-import the same image or clip again into your project. Your orignal asset will still be there. But you’ll have a duplicate image or clip that is now sized for this project.

    Good luck

    Mel
