    Hello Ivan,

Some of the deadlines were today so I had to send the best one I’ve had. In one tutorial I heard that I should not exceed 7.4 in bitrate.

But next week there are new deadlines, I have to make new DVDs. I hope I can make a better one.

    Here’s the screenshot.

My new H.264 render looks really nice, thank you.

Now, I am trying to figure out the DVD render. My first try looks really bad, with the DVD PAL codec. The lines have weird sharp edges. My project was 30 FPS but DVDs are 25 FPS, is that the problem? Should I export my whole animation as image sequences and render that sequence? If I have to do that, how should I make the audio synchronized?

    Thank you Ivan.

Some festivals require h.264 and some of them require DVDs for the selection process. One of them asks for PAL video.

So I have to export 3 different videos for the selection process.

If PNG sequences are not same color spcace with H.264 codec, what should I do?

Selection videos should be 1920 x 1080 so I select “Resize” and downscale from 4096×2160 to 1920×1080. I don’t know if it is the right way or not. I have an export which is 30 Mbps and 1920×1080 its colors and texture look good but the black line drawings seems a little bit blurry and I feel like it could be better. But today I will make another export with the settings you recommended, resize it and make the bitrate 30-35.

By the way, could you recommend a setting so that I can make a DVD with it?

I am watching some tutorials to figure out DCP, and I guess our aspect ratio is problematic. But that is a question when the film is selected for screenings.

I want to have basic knowledge on encoding. So general encoding reference material would be great.

    Best,
    Melis

Actually I have to select my film’s ratio on the online form and 4096×2160 is not an option. They have Full 4K, and other ratios and “Unknown” is an option. But I am confused because the 4096×2160 is not listed. Why could it be? Is it not a common option? Do you think I should select “Unknown” and apply with this ratio or convert each compositions and export it as full 4K, if it is more common ratio and if it is that vital to have my ratio that way?

I solved the problem with keying out brighter and duplicating the foreground and masking the duplicated foreground!

I hope it would help somebody.

    Hello Walter,

My drawings are colored with gouache so the papers are a little bit wrinkled with shadows, and I want to keep the texture&some color spots etc. Do you think the plugin you suggested would work?

Also, what do you mean by extract?

    Thank you really much!

    Hello Dave,

I am dragging and snapping to the CTI as you suggested. However, since I have thousands of PNG sequences, I sometimes waste too much time when I need to drag multiple layers or copy/paste them on the exact place. You may suggest to precompose before dragging, but I have loops and repeating frames. I wish there was a way to move multiple layers not by dragging but with a shortcut. Or paste them on the exact place at the timeline.

Thank you for your answers, you helped me a lot 🙂

    Hello Ted,

I have thousands of drawings and each has white background. So I am not sure if there is a way I can get rid of those white backgrounds to have an alpha.

    Hey thanks,

I did not AE had clone stamp tool. So do you recommend me to re-touch my images in AE? If so I can do alignment and cleaning in AE and do not waste time in PS.

But how can I align them in AE? With tracking?

    Best,
    Melis

Hey thank you for your answer, but I do not only nudge the images, I rotate them, too. So can the action record rotating? I’ll try as soon as possible. I hope this would work.

    Best,
    Melis
