Thank you so much for your help. I never thought to select the background. I tried it today, and it is easier to use the method you provided. I created a mask on my layer and used the quick selection tool. My selection was nothing perfect-or even close to it but I figured that I could use the refinement tool in the “select and mask” window but what i notice that it fixes some areas, but then erases others. I undo it, and go over the area again and the same thing happens. For example, around the feathers, it refines the edges and fills in anything that I missed but around the silver base of the case, it looks like it is being erased with a soft brush. I tried to send you my file. It is the same photo from a different angle. It shows the selection I was able to achieve. I am not sure how to fix the edges.

Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I cannot adjust the kelvin. The white balance has a few settings with a number next to it. For example: “Tungsten 3200K or White Flourescent 4000K.” There is also another setting in AWB: “AWB and AWBW(white priority). So it seems that I have to either correct it when editing or pick one of the settings provided. I just don’t understand why, if the room doesn’t have any tungsten lighting, does the custom WB ,make the picture even more cool toned, no warmth whatsoever.

I am using auto exposure (-_-) lol. I am no pro; still learning. I thought that by putting up the level to my ring light, that would suffice, but the only thing that happened was my face got brighter and hair stood dark as well as the background.

Thanks for this. I’ve normally used auto or intelligent auto mode when recording and notice the exposure is worse in those settings. I started using program auto which sets shutter speed and aperature but allows me to change iso & exposure. So i did exactly what u said and adjusted everything while i stood in front of the camera. I now notice that i can do close ups on a product and when i put it down, I’m no longer excessively bright! Thanks again.

Thanks for your response. Here is the link to the settings that I have always used. https://s16.postimg.org/s7d1r3csl/prop.jpg

I upload these videos on youtube and they usually look pretty good, up until now. I think when I used sony vegas platinum, things were better. The only change is upgrading to pro 12.
