Great to have feedback from you especially. You are the one that help us a few years ago and as can see, you are helping again ! ?
We are using QNAP 1282T3 and everything works effortlessly. You proposed 3 different brand and they priced differently.
$1249. Sanlink3
$169. Sonnet Solo 3
$189. Qnap
Any advantage from one to another? Do they need to be installed with Rosetta 2 to works?
Best

We just saw that Promise Sanlink2 rolled out a Mojave compatible update 2 days ago. We are using this component as well as TB adapters. Maybe it could be the Sanlink2 drivers and now it is resolved with this update.
Couldn’t be sure so we’ll wait before going back to Mojave

Hey Nick,
Same thing happen to us. Mojave seems to have poor SMB performance (or unstable I must say). We downgrade to High Sierra as well and everything was back to normal.
Can you confirm that a «Fresh install» of Mojave resolves the issue?
Thanks alot for this valuable info.
Best

That was it!! It works for us now on 4.3.4.0569
Basically, dont go with firmware 4.3.4.0597 NOR 4.3.4.0644 if you are using Thunderbolt.
Cheers

Yes it was not an easy decision but after comparing all the quotes and after viewing a couple of reviews, we were confident to buy TVS1282T3.
Nobody configure it yet. We plugged in and followed instructions. Pretty straightforward until this.We will not using ethernet port. This thing has Thunderbolt 3 ports! We should be able to use them right! ????
You wrote: 169.254.10.10 means that you have not configured a static IP between your thunderbolt port on your QNAP and a static IP on your Mac (thunderbolt bridging). The number you have is showing a self assigned IP.
We put this number ourselves in the Virtual Switch section > Use Static IP Address
Static IP has been made on Mac Thunderbolt Bridge too.Best regards,

July 19, 2018 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Anyone having issues with FCPX and QNAP Firmware 4.3.4.0597We just received our brand new TVS1282 and having this kind of issues too. We have a different configuration.
1 Mac connected via Thunderbolt Bridge(System Default) Port 1 using static IP Address 169.254.10.10(Thunderbolt) QFinder 4.3.4.0644
Everything seems to work perfectly in FCPX. The speed is great.
BUT** If we Eject the Shared Storage and reconnect with the same parameters we got the «Modified File» issue. This is the same computer.
Any clues?

Quotes are from Lumaforge, ProMax and SNS EVO. If we go with the Qnap system, you said it will be cheaper than others but I will need your help to configure it. Righ? How much? Is it a one time config or there is maintenance every month?
Have a great weekend!

April 20, 2018 at 2:30 pm in reply to: QNAP FCP X Slowdown/Beachball Issue via Thunderbolt 3 & SMB 3 (TVS-1282T3)Hi Bob,
Hope you are doing well today! The way I see it, it is more complex to set up than a plug n play shared storage. Now my question is: How more complex it is?
I did not know all the company and solutions possible on the market. I went with 3 quotes and I have to make a decision.
Would you say, with the tutorials I can find online, anybody can follow these setps and configure the Qnap to work?
Best regards,
Mel 🙂
