I understand the read only and am creating proxy. I had them all living on the same external drive. What we are trying to avoid is having our end-users to mount the share to see the goods? Why can’t CatDV just be smart enough to launch and connect? I think I’m saying this right… Thanks.

But why can’t CatDV just allow the user to preview the content without mounting a proxy share? Can’t it do it on the back end transparent to the end-user?

Integrator…. well, it’s a long story. I’ve basically had to learn on my own at the moment. So figuring out workflow has been a trial and error. I appreciate your recommendations.

Woohoooo! I get to contribute. Just had this question recently. Have to change in the preferences pane under general, make sure ADVanced is selected. That will unlock the paste metadata field in your edit dropdown.

Alright, alright. It worked. How do I delete my post? Lol.

    Thanks – M

  • Thank you for the input!!!

By slow, I think I resolved it by limiting the size of my catalogues. By project or theme seems to prevent that. It was initially slow to open the catalogue.

So we really do need to have folks connected to the actual harddrive that’s storing the original and preview media? I am surprised. I will adjust permissions on the drive, but the folks that are benefiting from this program are two different groups. Group A is much easier to control. More limited content which I’m very familiar. Group B, is decades of STUFF. And if they can only read the shared drive and not write to it, it’s going to give me another step to get the media over to the drive, no?

Thanks again. You guys are great. I’ve watched your videos Bryson and feel like i know you. lol

    Best,
    Mel
