I created these QTs myself and have read &write permission. Thanks for the response. I’m still trying to figure this out.

I’m confused. How can this be an AJA IO LA problem? I’m simply trying to export a QT file by joining 2 separate files in the rendered timeline.

Thanks for the quick reply, but no other programs are open. I’m not capturing through FW. My setup includes a G5 2Gig w/FCP 4.5 and an AJA IO-LA

August 7, 2005 at 12:51 pm in reply to: Beta SP vs. DV Cam?

Thanks Walter- Yes, Beta SP through my Aja IO Component Outs will probably look great but sound inferior to the DV Audio which should be extactly the 48K/16 Bit in FCP.

Since they’re getting the DV50 QT, they will have a true Master. Being they requested a physical tape as well, I guess I’ll point out the pros & cons of both formats and let my client decide tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

The source was DV50 and that’s why I output a DV50 QT for the client. They wanted tape as well and without renting extra gear the best I can do is Beta SP or DV25.

Thanks for the replies. My gut tells me to go with DV (It’s Digital!) and give the Client the DV50 Quicktime as well as a Master.

I also would like to know if you can remove capture AND playback presets. There are too many presets that I would never use. This list needs to be used selective!

    Thanks again Todd,

This app looks great! I really dig the Squared 5 people (person?). He writes great free apps. I use his Miro DC30+ drivers for 4 of my audio stations. It added OSX functionality to these 5 year old cards and they work great in G4 Pro Tools Rigs for Audio Post.

    Todd,

Thanks so much for your advice:

“I guess you could try to create an MPEG-2 sequence before dropping the .m2v files in it. From there you would export a QT movie with DV compression. Man, this sounds complicated… ”

This actually sounds like a good solution for my needs. After all, I’m just trying to string together a bunch of m2v files and export 1 DV file. I’ll give it a shot.
