February 3, 2010 at 5:51 am in reply to: Random lines expression crashes when i try to stop themCan anyone help me with this script please?
My aim is to have many vertical lines, of different widths, moving randomly sideways within the confinds of the comp.
This script, goes top to bottom and i would like this to go sideways, but don’t know how to change the script. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot
seedRandom(index, 1)
r =random(0, 100);
freq = random(.1, .3);
n = wiggle(freq, 100 + r);[thisComp.width, n[1]]

Not particulary. My client is just after random motion. Your wiggle idea sounds fine. I will give that a try.
Thanks

September 14, 2009 at 1:09 pm in reply to: Conforming from 25 to 24 with Cinema Tools – How to fix audio pitchCheers Rafael
I have just opened my video in Sountrack Pro and played with the pitch settings. It was probably something that i was doing but it sounded like there where 2 voices, rather than 1. Not what i was after at all.
In the project window, i selected the pullup feature and it brought it back to its original sound, but i don’t know if that is just a display setting only and not able to be rendered out.
Any audio pros care to advise how i would render out my audio and would compressor be able to take 2 individual files and join them into 1.
Thanks alot

September 14, 2009 at 1:02 pm in reply to: Should i go from 24P to 30P for World wide delivery on SD DVDSo your advice Rafael is to stay in 23.98 for DVD production?
I actually captured as ProRes following Chris Poissons tutorial.
I have just noticed that my sequence Video setting is set to HDV50i and the codec is set to same as same as sequence codec. Yet when i render out, i choose Quicktime and select the default Current settings and they output files are in ProRes.
Should i change any of my sequence settings to reflect ProRes?
I would prefer to deinterlace in FCP as there are fewer steps involved by rendering out 1 file only. The conform just changes the header in the QT….. rather than render out of FCP, then go into Jess and render again – a deinterlaced file.
Natress may be my option then, but from what i have read, it requires an edited movie to be placed in the delivery format seqeunce setting. Does that mean i still have to render my PAL file …only to bring it back in to be deinterlaced and conformed to 23.98? or can i nest my PAL comp into a 23.98 NTSC Sequence.
Thanks

September 14, 2009 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Conforming from 25 to 24 with Cinema Tools – How to fix audio pitchWould that be a quick process of just bringing the audio off the QT, or would it bring in the video aswell?
I quickly tried changing the pitch in Soundbooth yesterday, and it natural pitch, it was going to take over 8 hours to render 1 hour of footage on a 8 core machine
Cheers

September 12, 2009 at 10:25 am in reply to: Help – My pipeline is getting complicated and turning me greyThanks Rafael. Im interested to know why you suggested to not use the FCP deinterlacer? I have just applied it to a test piece, rendered it out at 25P, used cinema tools to conform and compressor to compress to MPG2 and the conform and deinterlace look great and i am really pleased with the result.
However i am very dissapointed with Compressor. Even using the highest possible SD DVD template, looks quite poor.
I guess i best start looking for a DVD compression program.
Any other tips from others are greatly welcome and appreciated.
