  • I think you can copy and paste the path data into the position key frames if i remember right. Heres a quick tutorial on youtube that might be what you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JvW7uN5gkg

I had this happen on a project i got from out of house recently and it confused the hell out of me for like 20 minutes. But yeah enabling the switches column should restore it.

  • Have you tried doing the zoom into the screen with a 3d camera instead of corner pinning the main comp? I tried it quickly with that first screen shot and you might get a result you can use with some tweaking. Try animating a camera to zoom into to the screen and tilt it and rotate it to try to get the image full screen and square again. I didn’t get it looking perfect with just the camera, but maybe building a comp with the screen image specifically to bridge the gap from where you get it with the camera to how you need to land might do it. Someone else might have a better idea though good luck

Have you tried parenting both layer’s corner pins to Null objects instead of directly to the other layer’s pin? I feel like that should do what you’re going for. Didn’t have a chance to try it out though.

  • Someone more qualified will probably give you a better answer as i don’t do a lot of roto work. But, it sounds like it should work fine though. I’d go about it as stabilizing the footage>rotoing>precomp and apply the “shake” track data back to that precomp after the roto is done. See if you can track somethings in the shot that would represent the shake well and I would think you can just apply that data to pre comp to put the shake back in. There’s probably a more clever way to do it but that’s my first instinct.

I’ve had a few strange issues with using the faux bold and those other text options occasionally. If you run into anything weird with your text later remember to see if that’s causing issues. It normally works fine though!

Well if the circles are shape layers, you should be able to twirl down menus into Content>Ellipse 1>Ellipse Path 1>Size. Then open the scale property in the null and try just pick whipping the Ellipse Path Size to the Null scale. That’ll set the size of the circle in pixels to whatever the scale of the null is. Doing it like this should scale each circle from its own anchor point instead of scaling the shape layer from the center of comp.

Not sure if this would work for what you need, but what if you put a light in c4d in a matrix or cloner and had it set up with rows and columns so the lights would be at the intersection of that mesh cube essentially. The example you linked to seems like it could be light’s being pulling up and down on strings together so they seem like a moving plane. Maybe creating it that way would work better than trying to project a light through the actual mesh.

Hey Norman that should be possible you just have to dive into the drop down menus a bit.

Try this: Click the triangle next to your text layer. Then go into Text, then to Animator 1, then Range Selector 1, then Advanced. Try changing the “Shape” property from square to ramp up and change the Ease high and low values.

Have you tried going through the example file they linked to in that thread? In theory it should be pretty straightforward. Just parenting 3d layers to a 3d null at the center of the “sphere” and rotate the null.
