I’m glad to hear that your Title 3D is working, and Chris, I’m feeling your pain. Seems like we have a real anomoly here.

I want to be more specific about my problem in case it sheds some light on the situation:

I have two lines of text created in Boris 3D.
Inside the Boris 3D text input window, you can see that the two lines of text are real close to one another.
However, when the text is viewed in the canvas, the two lines are spaced far apart.

When you click back into the text input screen, you notice that the ‘leading’ is set to ‘0’[which is consistant with how the text looks in the canvas, ie spaced far apart – but NOT consistant with how the text looks in the input window].

It seems that there is a discrepency with how the new Boris is reading and scaling the old Boris texts – and I DESPERATELY need a work-around.

I’m working on a sub-title intensive documentary that has over 500 Title 3D text instances, and fixing each one by hand is not an option at this stage.

Any input will be most helpful.

Just as an added note to our friends on the COW, if anyone is looking for a *similar* albeit much limited plug-in that is *similar* to the mask feature in Colorista [where you can, for instance, increase the exposure on just a subjects face] – then I want to highly recommend the FREE plug-in called ‘Face Light’ from: https://www.haiku.com.au/

As I mentioned, it’s free and works really well to isolate an area and change the exposure – is stunning on women’s faces in interview situations.

Remember to always feather the edges for ‘invisible’ results.

Shane, thanks for the link – it really helped me to be able to see the power of Colorista in action. [Why the Magic Bullet guys didn’t show a demo like that one instead of the lame videos that show very little on their site is beyond me].

Another question:
Often I’ll want to change or enhance just one particular color in a scene and I’d use the ‘Limit Effect’ tool for that. Does Colorista handle this kind of task any better the FCPs native tools?

The first thing I’d recommend is going through the links here and downloading all the free plug-ins available at the different sites – there is a lot of really great and helpful stuff:

The free Face-Light plug in a GREAT plug in, when used correctly – it can REALLY enhance the look and lighting of interviews:

You can create GREAT looks with this stuff – I love it.
It’s expensive and it takes forever to render but if you have a newer machine with a faster VIDEO-card, it will render faster, maybe even play real-time.
I would recommend that Aish buys it, and maybe a few licences of it for you guys.

Hi,

I’m not doing well here.

I’m running FCP 5.1.2 PPC – OSX 10.4.8.

I was running BCC 3.0 on FCP 4.5 – and of course when I cross-graded to 5.1.2 my BCC filters died.

So I download the BCC 4.1 Try&Buy upgrade and installed it.
Followed the Caps on/off instructions, to no avail.

I then downloaded the 4.0.1 for FCP5.1 CD updater patch.
Followed instructions.

Now this is what I have:
Black screen on all BCC3 filters
My BCC 4 filters show up, but WITHOUT adjustable paramaters.

Please help me – on a deadline that I can’t finish without my BCC 3 plugs.
