I think FCPX &Motion will finally get a major boost this year. Resolve has been updating its software at an amazing pace with great features, but I think this is the chance for Apple to take the lead. Everyone says they want an iPad version and that’s fine, but it won’t make a difference. FCPX needs new innovation. What is that? You only have to look at MotionVFX to see what the issues are. Motion VFX has driven the innovation for Apple these past few years. Motion VFX did 3d text and shapes before Apple. Then Apple introduced 3d text into FCPX/Motion. Now its the 3d tracker. And this the point, FCPX is missing ITS OWN advanced 3d tracker baked into the product. Resolve has it with Mocha. Why has Apple done nothing? The particle engine in Motion has not changed in over 10 years. It cannot compete against what Resolve can do with Particles. If Apple wants Apple TV and all studios to use their Pro products then these 2 basic elements need to be built into and updated in FCPX. Even merge Motion into FCPX similar to Fusion and Resolve. With Apple and its new ARM strategy for Mac and the benefits of using the neural engine that brings, this is the moment for Apple. They will miss the boat if 10.5 is not revolutionary.
