Steve advice was correct
Is not possible to connect the DSR-DU1 with the SBP2 protocol in the Mac
It’s an official Sony document
So I have to setting the hd like a vcr and is not important if I cant see the hd icon on desktop
There is no problem to capture via iMovie, all is correct
If I try to import directly in Final Cut pro I have this message

Error: Final Cut Pro was unable to read the movie file just captured

When I import in Final Cut Pro the files captured via iMovie I have no problem
Only the audio need to render
So maybe this is a possible solution
Capture in iMovie and then import the same files in Final Cut Pro

I will try to change some audio settings in my PD170 sd camera to see if something change

I have the manual in pdf and I change the setting to follow your advice
Now I cant see the DSR-DU1 in my desktop
I think it’s impossible to use this device
