Ok, I have played around with this and it is easily doable using multiple overlay tracks each manipulated with track motion keyframes for EACH PIP image – they superimpose VERY nicely and with a chroma key effect added in, I can lose most of the superfluous image area – but is that the elegant solution? If I want a dozen simultaneous PIP images, I cannot do that on Movie Studio as I only have 4 video tracks max, and indeed, it seems the wasteful way to do it, to keep adding tracks to do this but I see no other way. Awaiting your reply on this….Matt.

Ok yes, keyframes are a very powerful automation tool and I have used them to animate titles. HOWEVER even using keyframes, I do not see a way of doing the following without using multiple overlay tracks.
I want to superimpose a picture in picture image, not once, but THREE times- the same identical image. I want to see it the first time, then a second one pops in again slightly to the right, and then a third one pops in again slightly to the right of that, and when we’re all done, there’s THREE OF THEM, PIP in a row – now HOW do you do THAT with keyframes because I have no clue. Can you explain it conceptually?
Whew, I am really learning this rapidly, be proud of me!

Hi I tried this, it made NO difference. It’s sucking up huge amounts of ram and releasing it only when it exits or you minimize and maximize…….This seems likea HUGE bug to me….posted it on the Sony Creative website for Customer Service…no response yet……thanks for all your help…………………………………

Ok, I have confirmed this at least 4-5 times. After playing a 3-4 minute edited video and doing a number of various kinds of other edits, I am watching in Task Mgr as Sony Vegas 8.0B sucks up hundreds of MB of RAM which is ONLY released by minimizing and then maximizing Vegas. I notice there is a problem when I try to run outlook or IE and it loads extremely slowly. Can you try and confirm this? Otherwise…it works FLAWLESSLY. This seems really important.

Try the other tool icon on the event, which is the panning and cropping tool. Try doing TRACK LEVEL brightness control, which is the same icon on the video track. If brightness and contrast is NOT changing, stop right there. Your video card is not behaving properly or DirectX is not properly configured or not compatible, etc. This really is a no brainer. Look at me I am an expert. A week ago, I started using Vegas Platinum and now I’m flying high. It’s absolutely awesome.

Select the event chain icon on the event, the “X”, then select the brightness and contrast FX tool, adjust that back and forth with the slider, then just close to save, it’s as simple as that, and this is quite intuitive……………………
I too would like to know how to clear the clipboard!

Oooops never mind, I accidentally deleted the original take, it did NOT have a wave extension…..did an undo, and was able to delete four and leave the original. WORKED. THANKS.
Is there a FREE external audio editor I can run through platinum studio?
Also, I notice there’s a pro edition of this product! Whew, the platinum consumer version is so massive already, do you really NEED more?

Hmmmm….I deleted them ALL and it left me with an EMPTY audio event. Now what? Do I need to insert the MPEG clip all over again? MUST be a way to re-point audio to the original MPEG file…HOW to do it?

Whew as usual, found the answer to this one there’s thousands of VST plug-ins out there, what Sony gives you is fine, OK, this question:
Using Sony audio plugins, I made changes, and it saves it as wave “take” files. HOW do I discard ALL of these TAKE files and revert to what was in the original MPEG file?
ALSO Pinnacle uninstall left behind Audio plugin “Footprints” that show up but CANNOT load. How do I get rid of the PINNACLE VST footprints? IS this in the registry?
