    Hi Jim.

The 3D Flag program is a dynamic simulation, but finding a loop is possible.

The key is to make sure that your wind speed doesn’t change. If the Wind Speed parameter isn’t animated, and the Flag Pole isn’t animated, then the simulation will loop.
The trick here is that the loop may not technically happen on an exact frame.

Ed’s suggestion of looking for two similar (and simple-to-match) frames is a good one. You may have to do a slight blend between the first and last frame since they may not be quite the same.

Let us know if you’re having trouble finding a good loop point.

    Hi Donovan.

At this point, we haven’t seen any incompatibility running our software in Win 7 64-bit.
AE CS4 should be able to run the plug-ins in 32-bit mode.

Let us know if you’ve had any particular problems.

    Hi Nelson.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to dock the ProAnimator windows at this point.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks, Eric.

You may want to remove the file now that I’ve downloaded it, unless you want to give the entire set of forum users access.

    Hi Eric.

Can you tell me which version you’re using? The current version is v1.5.0:
    https://zaxwerks.com/download

We’ve seen that problem in the past, but it should be fixed in the current version.
If you’re using the latest version, please send me a sample project (just the .aep file – no media files necessary).
I’d be happy to take a look.

  • Hi Mike.

The Parallel Lights in AE should work the same as the internal lights in ProAnimator.
Additionally, you can use the other light types that AE offers to light the PA scene.
Inside PA, only the default set of non-animatable parallel lights are supported.

Can you tell us what you mean by “don’t look as good?” I’d like to see what differences you’re seeing.

    Thanks.

September 24, 2009 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Spike and harsh edges won’t go away

    Hi Mike.

I’m glad you solved your problem. Would you mind telling us what you did to fix it?

I was thinking that a few adjustments to your outline would do it.
Sometimes, when there are a bunch of outline points really close together, our geometry engine can create
    the spikes you sometimes see.

The Spike Buster slider usually does the trick, but not in all cases.

    Thanks.

September 16, 2009 at 5:44 pm in reply to: 3D text graphics distributed around the Y

    Hi Ken.

We don’t have a good way of rearranging object “birth order” at this point.
We’d suggest re-creating your Illustrator file by doing the following:
    1. Create a new document.
    2. Copy “New York” and paste it into the new document.
    3. Copy a spacer object and paste it into the new document.
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for additional “New York” and spacers.
    5. Save your new document and import that. The objects should import in the desired order.

Note: If you can find a way to make the font available (which one are you using?), you can do this within the PA text editor by putting spaces in between your words.

Let us know if you still have questions.
