    Hi Michael,

Thank you for your offer, I’m a bit hesitant to send the audio without an okay from production – maybe we can record a test clip for you if we get a a chance.

We have figured out what causes the this to happen, but not yet been able to provide a solution.

The sound recordist occasional re-names clips after he’s recorded them to the correct slate/take if he’s behind for some reason. In wave agent the clip name (slate and take) doesn’t match the meta data for slate and take. I have tried manually renaming the slate and take metadata to match the clip name but this hasn’t solved it.

Thanks again for your thoughts and time,

    Matt

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your input. I’ve just tried this and its still not bringing the metadata into Avid. I even tried re-naming the tape metadata again with no luck. This seems to have quite a few people i’ve asked stumped!

Can you think of anything else it might be worth trying?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Just to let you know that we’ve decided to spend the cash and get the SD702 and a NTG3 – I think it’ll definitely be worth it in the long run. It’s arriving tomorrow, looking forward to recording some half decent audio for a change!

Thanks again for your help Audio Pro’s,

    Matt

    Hi Stephen,

Thanks for getting back to me.

It’s not just a particular behavior that is missing, it’s all of them! See screen grab below of my ‘Add behavior’ menu:

    Thanks,

    Hi Ty,

OK, after doing some more research I think the problem just lies with the Gracenote CDDB auto-naming. I have submitted the name of this track to the database, going to wait a while and see if it will work. Hasn’t fixed the problem yet, but i’m guessing there needs to be some kind of verification process before they let it loose on the web….

    Thanks again,

    Matt

Hi Ty, thanks again for your support.

This was my first thought, but after disconnecting my Ethernet cable, purchasing and installing toast 10, rebuilding the enhanced CD from scratch, and then re-inserting and running it, all whilst disconnected from the web, the same thing happens!

It titles the disc by the name Share The Night, even though in toast I titled it by the track that’s on it….

It mounts two virtual CD images to my desktop, the video CD image remains correctly titled, but the audio CD does not.

it’s all very confusing, and I cant seem to find anything similar happening to others out there.

    Do WAVs even carry metadata?

    Thanks again!

Yep, I completely agree! I’m in-experienced at recording sound, and i’m striving to get the best possible quality with the time and equipment I have at my disposal.

I’m going to run a few experiments this week and hopefully combat the issue. I think a combination of repositioning the mic a little lower, and lowering the sensitivity of the receiver should help (fingers crossed)

Thanks for everyone’s input on this thread,

    Matt
