  • James…if there’s a way to do this, I’ve yet to find it. I can’t seem to make any changes via Black Magic Multibridge Utility…if that’s what I’m supposed to use…

An update. I’ve installed the latest version of Black Magic’s desktop video, and the sync problem with Final Cut Pro 7 in the operating system Mavericks is fixed.

    Indeed, sync is a problem.

I checked with the Apple store folks (one of whom is fairly knowledgable about video) as well as some other sources that said FCP7 will work with Mavericks. And, it does…sorta.

My audio is delayed going through an UltraStudio 3d box…but not when using built-in audio. Blackmagic says they are aware of this and suggested changing a different version of Desktop Video…but this has yet to work.

My issue is that I wanted to update Motion, as well as a couple other things that needed Mavericks. I had planned to set up a second partition, etc…but didn’t. (Another example of thinking “it’ll be fine” and paying the price of not taking the additional step)

I’ve also downloaded a trial version of FCP X….which does sync fine.

We’ll see what Blackmagic comes back with today…

Thanks to all! I still cannot get anything other than PAL on the scopes in the capture side.

The scopes found under the tools menu are NTSC.

My concern is that footage will not be correctly set up when imported.

I even have trashed try preferences and started over….scopes still say “PAL” at the corners while capturing.

Thanks…I looked at that too. I’ve even opened new projects after selecting a new “easy setup”…yet the scopes are still labelled PAL when trying to capture.

Thanks Shane…I agree. I output to a monitor via a BlackMagic Ultra Studio 3d.

I’ve since uploaded via fireire in Log & Capture using a HDV to ProRes setting. Seems to have helped.

Thanks….yes I did notice that…but it still seems a bit soft. Perhaps I’m expecting too much from the format?

I have found by using the color corrector and dropping black just a bit seems to help, too.

I know lots of guys using this format, without these concerns.

Sequence is currently HDTV 16:9, square pixel, 29.97, None dominance, Apple Pro-Res HQ.

If I try to drag one of the files brought in via firewire…it makes it 1440×1080.
