thanks for your opinion. yes, I do have a choice, either the 2011 with radeon, or the 2012 nvidea, and I can exchange the RAM to either computer. but it appears you think the upgrades to 2012 negate any card preference. thanks.

thanks for the advice. RAM wins, I guess. Now onto the graphics card question. I’ll get the 16GB RAM, and atleast 1GB VRAM, which of these cards should I get for best results on Final Cut X: AMD Radeon HD 6970M or the nvidia Geforce GTX 680MX? I read in this link https://www.larryjordan.biz/improving-fcp-x-performance/
that the radeon’s work better fro final cut, but wanted to confirm the veracity of that with you guys.

thanks that really makes it easier. seeing just one point is great. but now, I just tried to move those points, and all I’m getting is a yellow line, no move. what tool do I need selected to move the points?

Thanks for the links. It was shot in HDV. Why is HDV bad for green screen, and what IS good for doing green screen? I just want to get the best possible look. And it looks good, except for those edges, with either green outline or a lot of noise on those edges. Thanks.

Now I’m showing my stupidity when it comes to general computer use, but how do I do that, optimize directories and should I throw out permissions, and which ones. Sorry, I’m only knowledgeable about Final cut editing, not the regular techy stuff. any step by step would be great. Thanks again.

  • Thanks, sounds simple enough. I appreciate the help.

  • Thanks, I’ll do that. but once I get it, do I just click on the XML, do I import it? basically, I’ve never worked with an XML file and don’t know how to go from that to a regular timeline. directions needed.
