Good point and fair lesson. They are on a PC so a trip to compressor seems to be the call. Thanks. Any further insight, I welcome gladly.

Also we used a LUT. Is it possible that FCP is ignoring the LUT information in the avid format?

I believe he used Speedgrade. He said he didn’t have the option. Is that the problem? The fact that it is in the AVID format?

So, the H.264 format doesn’t work. Well that’s a bugger. I can convert the files to another format. Before going into the converting world, is the standard .mp4 format good for editing? Any ideal formats for editing that anyone can think of?

One is the JVC GZ-MG20U and the other are the SONY HDR-SR1. I don’t have much on the JVC but I do know that the SONY is notorious for having a ridiculously propriatary format which caused the inital problems. Other than that, I am lost.
