Steve’s process works — but I would love to hear a way to force audio imports to dual mono. This is going to be a long process for a feature doing all of these steps.

Just noticed that certain folders import as 30fps no matter what. strange. most can be re-imported as 25fps without issue. Easy Setup is for base 25fps.
Any brilliant solutions will be…so helpful!

Perhaps a simpler question would be to just ask if I should force myself to use the default p2 dvcpro-hd 720p50 option even though it red-bars my media when I drag it to the timeline. I wonder if I would have better luck with outputs this way than my custom-rolled 25fps timeline.

And if any of you P2 premiere pro cs3 folks could direct me to resources/sites/wikis/etc where I could research this question further that would be helpful! (I’ve certainly done my share of googling and reading — I’d just like recommendations for sites that proved helpful to you folks!)

Perhaps simplifying my question will help:
Should I create a P2 or Blackmagic P2 720P 50p session using my 25fps DVCPRO-HD 720p material? Playback would need to be rendered, but this is a default setting whereas my custom configged P2 720p 25fps session (which plays natively) may be the root of my output problems.

Sigh. I’m at the point of exporting an edl and moving from my nice quad core XP editing system to a 1st Gen MacBookPro (what i used on-set to injest the cards and cut an assembly!). If any of you p2 + ppro cs3 folks can take pity on me and throw me a bone! 😉
