Stage noise as in general noise, anything that isn’t picked up by a lav mic. This last show included a small crowd at a high school rally. I would need a mic that would pick up the crowd noise. We also have tambourines in our shows. I need that noise as well. I won’t have to pick up anything really soft, but it still needs to be picked up well.
How big is stage? Eh…I will have to get back to you on that one.
Stage noise does not include dialog. Dialog will be miked.
Budget…I don’t know that I want to spend more than a couple hundred dollars on a mic/mics. However, we would get paid for this, so that may increase our budget.
I’m not expecting stellar audio quality. However, I do need something that’s half decent. One of the main things I want to avoid is the echoey sound. The person before me that did these recordings had a very bad echoey sound to his videos. Now, I do realize that this is a theater and will have some of the echoey sound, but I’d like to eliminate that as much as possible. I also will be placing my mic(s) much closer than he did; he had his up in the balcony, I’ll try to place mine in front of the stage or hanging above the stage if possible.
I am not expecting a ton of audience noise. I do realize that the mic will pick up audience noise, but I don’t need the noise. (the camera’s audio will suffice for the little bit that I need)
