LMAO!!! That is probably the best (and most enjoyable) advice I could receive on this subject 🙂

But honestly, the reason for the large hour count is due to the variety of unique subjects and their technical details. From what I hear the viewer will only be watching small job specific modules and NOT the entire 600hrs.

Yes, the size definitely presents some very sober challenges, which of course is why I am looking to receive as much council as possible. Logistically I have mapped out as much as I can think of, (man hours, equipment, organization…) but want to ask around and see if there are any blind-spots that could arise. Of course any ideas to help keep it interesting would be well received. 🙂

    Thanks again for your input!

Good point, I will have to look into that possibility although the details I am privy to right now are still fairly vague. What I do know is that they have about 600hrs of training scheduled, and would like to document it all.

Thank you for the organization recommendation. Excellent article!

  • Thanks for the tip, but could you be a little more specific? I did finish the project, but when I tried to open it in CS3, it still needed a complete render.

Another piece of information that I should have probably shared was that when I upgraded to CS3, I also upgraded my motherboard, hard drives, and added a Matrox RT.X2 card. My current system also does not have premiere pro 1.5 on it anymore. Is there a setting, or process that I can do so that I don’t have to render plain footage?

    Thanks!

Good information! I actually have a font manager program but it is currently on the blink as well… So let me verify, you are not having any font malfunctions with your NVIDIA card?

I was just getting ready to buy a new ATI card, but this might be a good thing to know before I do.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the tips, although even if I type in the name in the font box, it still crashes… Anything over the letter “K” will cause Premiere to seize.

The version I have is 3.2.0, which I believe is the newest available.

    Thanks!

Yes my fonts do work fine in other applications. And yes I do have an ATI card… Very interesting, do you know a fix for the ATI driver bug?

    Many thanks!

Yes, it is 3.2.0. I remember hearing something about font fixes for that upgrade as well. I tried deleting a few of the fonts where it was crashing (thinking it may have been a corrupt file), but that didn’t work either.

    Thanks

Perhaps I should have been more specific, the type of program they are doing will be completely unique to their industry. 🙂

Thank you for the sage advice! I am now in the process of contacting experienced companies in the Balt/DC region to look at getting the much needed consultation.

To fill in the gaps from my first post, it will be mostly post production with some live to tape. Basically this is a parent company whose clients have a lot of their own footage and the program will consist of the parent company introducing clips from their clients. I would give more detailed information but they are concerned about confidentiality (because they’re the first of their type to do something of this manner).

Thank you also for the photoshop tip, I like that idea a lot!
