I’ve made a feature request for this, and I hope more people do as well.

I’m one of the many FCP editors looking into switching to PPro since FCPX came out and so far I’ve been extremely impressed. The lack of editable clip markers is the very first thing that has given me pause.

It may seem like a little thing but in FCP I use this feature constantly. The very first thing I do when I’m starting a new project (well, after importing the footage and setting up some bins) is go through and watch all my clips and mark them up extensively. I end up with a huge collection of markers (each with tons of comments about performance, technical issues, etc.) long before I add anything at all to my first sequence.

I can’t even imagine doing a major project without this step. I’d just be lost.

Have any PPro editors out there come up with a work-around other than–possibly hundreds!–of nested sequences (very, very messy)? Any alternate way to accommodate/approximate this workflow?

I know Adobe people read this forum (which, as others have mentioned, is very nice to know!) so I thought I’d resurrect this old thread just to say that I’m loving PPro so far and I can foresee switching being quite painless save this one catch.

    Matt
