    Do you mean tranform the entire mask? Right click on the mask in the comp window and go to “free transform points” or have the mask selected in the timeline and hit command – t.

    I don’t think that the After Effects in Production book has anything about 3d tracking. It’s got the “Autotracker” chapter that deals with the 2d tracker in AE… I think what Nir wants is a tutorial on using something like Boujou, Icarus, Pftrack, Pfhoe, etc. Usually they tell you how to integrate with AE in the help files of the software. Usually you can export the 3d data as a maya binary file and import that as a camera in AE.

    Do you want to make an image in Illustrator HAVE transparency?
    For that all you have to do is import the image, target the image layer (by hitting the circle by the layer) and then go to window – transparency. From there you can set the opacity or set a transfer mode.

    Object – Flatten Transparency. Make sure “Convert All Strokes to Outlines” is checked.

    Mask it halfway and then crank up the mask feather or create another box and fill it with a ramp effect and use it as a luma matte.
