Creating fading boxes
Posted by Fred Matthews on April 18, 2005 at 3:30 pmI am sure this is simple but:
What is the best way to create boxes in AE that are 100% opac on one end and tail off to 100% transparent on the other?
I want to put text on top of it.
Thanks

Matt you were actually on track for what I wanted although I really appreciate the link from yikesmikes. That will come in handy at some point soon. I ended up making a small solid and then applied ‘Optics Compensation’ to it. It wasn’t the “exact” look that I wanted but I liked the results enough to go with it.
By the way is this the same Matt as in the Digital Juice forum? If so Howdy! from Zacbray, if not Howdy! anyways and thanks.

April 19, 2005 at 10:42 pmMatt, I thought you were a little quick above to assume you’d made the wrong interpretation of the question. It’s often hard to figure out what posters are getting at, so a scatter gun approach, insert my first response here, works.
Chow.
