What he wants to do is, actually “tweening” of sort.
Maybe import words from Illustrator as masks on solid and keyframe paths?
Obviously require some manual work but results would be what he actually needs.

Or create folder in project window, move all those clips in there so they don’t mess your project window.
If you need some clip from there, just open folder, use, then close it again.

Well, here it is.
5 nulls linked to star point, few solids linked to nulls (trails), nested and Bezier Warp.

You can tweak stroke width, colors and cycling, everything is in solids so no files needed. Project is 1920×1080, AE CS4 (it seems Youtube distorted it somehow).
