The DVD has a section called “making a GUI” or something like that where they explain how they made those effects. It doesn’t give a lot of technical details, but it does sort of diagram their workflow. They also talk about the titling. I have read elsewhere that a good portion of the effects were done with AE.

Camtasia. This gets asked about daily, be sure and search the posts before asking.

It looks like they filmed cigarette paper over a different colored background, or similar, being burned and then just keyed out the changes and time remapped.

Be sure and check google images or a medical site for a real EKG tracing before you make anything. Nothing is more annoying to people who know what an EKG tracing looks like than to see these squiggly lines people pass off in tv shows and commercials as an EKG (don’t get me started on how Hollywood has completely screwed up every aspect of the public’s impression of the medical field).

Does anyone know if you can still get CC PS LE classic? I have the cycore plugs that came with AE7, but I have downloaded several projects recently that call for this other plugin and I can’t find it.

  • I recently did a similar video at home. I found that the most important thing was to have good lighting on the frames so that they can be easily tracked (poor lighting resulted in similar luminance values between the frames and background and the tracker lost the corners of the frames). I also used the tracker with the perspective corner pin feature. You won’t have to adjust individual frames if you apply this because AE will automatically adjust perspective for you.
