Hi Richard, thanks for your reply. Although what you say makes sense, I keep sensing the blurry edges (very smooth but still there). Zooming a screenshot within Photoshop makes it really easy to spot.

Hi Steve thanks for your time, but I don’t understand your comment. The blurry layer is the one WITHOUT decimal position (and vice-versa). Maybe you have mistaken layer 1 for layer 2. According to the numbers, the edges are indeed falling on single pixels.

When we talk about computers shouldn’t be any “you can’t do this” or “change your workflow” answers. There are many reasons to end up with a timeline full of gaps. This is an important function and this thread has exactly 10 years old, Adobe should implement a simple script that does what is going on in the video (if it’s really that hard to detect the gaps). They even had this function already done on Adobe Encore…

I have the same issue sometimes – and sometimes I don’t. I work watching (quality control) professional mainstream movies from big studios, with perfect color calibration, always with Prores 422 HQ. I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with external monitors.

March 19, 2016 at 7:26 pm in reply to: Mono to stereo conversion while in timeline?

Hey guys, can I change the audio setup like in Final Cut Pro? I need to export my project as stereo, doesn’t matter if it’s actually mono, I just want to change the timeline properties, something like this:

  • When I’m using Final Cut, I just double click the clip to bring it to the viewer. Then I press F twice, to bring the original video and the original audio. Drag down, job is done. Premiere has no such feature. Shame on you Adobe! I can’t imagine a decent reason why ALL the features from Final Cut 7 (software from 2009, made by the SAME TEAM), are not present in Premiere CS6. Sad… Fortunately, there is a decent workaround:

    DECENT WORKAROUND:

    – Drag the video-only clip to your project window. A new instance of the raw clip will appear.
    – Double click this new clip. It will have the same in/out information from your video-only clip.
    – You can either bring back both audio and video, or just click the “drag audio only” button and drag the audio to the desired track.
