    Hi again, Dave and Jerome.

    Okay, so no success so far – images are still dark (doh!).
    Could you please just check over my set-up details?

    Deck to Mac via Firewire
    Deck to Media 100 via S-video

    Hardware set to Video Source In = S-video
    Audio still set to DV
    Devices set to No Machine Control

    Am I missing anything???

    Sorry for the delay in getting back to you (been away for a couple of days).
    Just wanted to say a big “Thank you”, at least I’ve got something else to try!
    Will report back when I’ve had a chance to check out your S-video suggestion.
