I read it for the first time the other day when running a search for the problem. Just goes to show, when you do this kind of help, it helps many others. I doubt many think to give thanks, but it really saved me a lot of hassle and a headache, and I really wanted to say thanks. 🙂

I don’t suppose you can help me with a little pointer on a different subject, no worries if not, but I thought I’d run it by you. I’m on Sony Vegas Pro 11 and for some reason when I paste a video file, containing the audio as well, it drops it into the correct places, yet if I click on either the video or audio track and go to move it, it only moves the one track, unless I physically click on both and then drag. They always used to automatically be linked, but now they’re not linking. I cant get them to relink using G. I’m a bit stuck with that. I can manage, its just a bit of a pain regularly having to go undo “move event” when I regularly do it by accident.

Thanks, but I’ve overcome one of these problems (I think). The flickering frames, due to the doubled frame rate of one of the 4 cameras. I think will be corrected now I’ve disabled re-sample under “edit”-“switches”-“disable re-sample”.

I want to be able to render to 1080 H264, but I can’t find a HD template for H264, 40-50mps, 25fps PAL in the render templates window.

Can anyone please tell me which setting or if I need some additional plug in installed in Vegas Pro 11.

I downloaded VLC player after another forum member recommended it on another thread I posted here. Its the only player that will play my edited video, but not well. It runs fine for aprox. 10seconds, then re buffers for a few seconds, then plays another aprox. 10seconds and then stops to re buffers again, this continues in this way to the end of the video.

The file is massive though at 17.5Gb AVI for a 3.20minute video, I wonder if this may give a clue as to what I’ve done wrong here?

Can anyone give me some advice here please, or put me onto a good article/tutorial on rendering.

I’m more of a photographer than a video maker, it must be 25-30 yrs since I edited video, and that was on tape using a mixer the size of a large desk . . . . . so as you can see, I need a little help. I’ve managed the actual HD footage editing reasonably as its not a million miles away from music editing software, well eventually, after a lot of experimenting and reading! Rendering however is holding me back here.

I need my videos (my own music promotional videos, I’m a solo blues musician), to be able to run on any player, one render in as full a quality as possible and another for putting up on youtube.

Original footage on 3 of the cameras used was shot at 25fps, one camera at 50fps. I’m in the UK so on PAL.

Thanks Aleksey for the useful info. Is it ok to uninstall the codec pack or does that need any special treatment. I’ll check out the VLC player too thanks.

Thanks, I got it running smoothly, it was the preview quality setting that needed altering, doh!

I don’t understand about not using codec packs whilst editing. They’re on my computer, someone (online help from Movavi video converter) said that that might be the problem with jerky footage. I assume I’m not using them as default with Vegas, or am I?
