I can’t get proxy files to run smoothley in Vegas Pro 11 :)
Hi, I hope someone here can help, I’ve been trying different things over the past week or so but not had any success.
I’ve been trying to find a suitable format to transcode to for proxy editing on my quad core laptop, as its not beefy enough to handle the original HD files, but I can’t find a proxy format that will play smoothley in Vegas’ preview window. I have the latest K-lite codec pack 1005 FULL installed.
Its a 4 camera shoot, one camera, the Canon C100 was shooting to BDVA format using .MTS files and the other three, 2 Canon DSLR’s and a Panasonic DSLR, were shooting to AVC format using .MOV files.
I’ve tried using MPEG-2’s and although the .MOV files play ok in the Vegas preview window, the .MTS from the C100 is badly jerky and pixelated, making it impossible to do accurate edits.
I’ve also tried DVD PAL format but that all runs out of sync with the audio and in the preview window many frames are skipped again making it impossible to edit.
Is there a simple fix for this or is it going to be more of a problem than that? I’ve searched through the threads here but can’t find anything that covers the mix of file/camera types.
I’d love to use the multi-camera editing function at least for rough edits, but am I right to assume that won’t be possible on my set up? I’m running a HP Pavillion g6 quad core, an AMD A8-3520M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.60GHz. Its a 64bit system with 6GB of RAM.
I’d really very much appreciate any help that’s offered, thanks, Martin
