Hope this doesn’t muddy the waters but … I keep all my settings on an 8Gb card but this has been formatted numerous times (in the camera)and it hasn’t deleted the settings file. Only found this out by accident when wiping a whole load of cards before a shoot. Obviously worth having it backed up onto a stick too though as you say Michael.

Thanks for replies, guys. I’m still sitting on the fence – do I play safe and go for the Radeon HD 7850, or as David says, the Sapphire 7950 looks good or risk the noisy fan on the GTX680? Difficult choice without testing them all myself individually somehow?!

I found that XDCAM Transfer didn’t work after updating to ML. However, on re-downloading and re-installing it all worked fine. That was a year ago and no problems at all since.

Thanks for the replies, guys, yes – I have just been looking at the GTX680 and it looks pretty good. Just wonder whether it’s worth the extra £150 or so ….. Also wonder whether to hang on for a few months to see if anything else suddenly appears?
