    Hi John
Many thanks for this – sorry, a related question please: I have just bought a new 17″ MacBook pro (OSX 10.6). It has the useless new QT 10.0 that does not allow you to upgrade to pro. I tried to installed QT 7 so I could then upgrade to pro. However, it won’t permit this. Do you happen to know if I can just uninstall QT10 and then install QT7? Or will I just end up with a Mac with no QT at all?!
Your thoughts much appreciated if possible, have a good Easter.

    Hi Steve
How are things? Apologies for taking you hurtling back to Mar 24, 2008, but I’m trying to rebuild an edit I did on DV in 2004, and I’ve hit the same problem you mentioned in your Mar 24, 2008 post, i.e.
“the deck (Sony DSR-40P in my case, DSR-11 in yours) backs up to just about 2 secs before the in point then stops and gives me an error that says Failed to find pre-roll point. I have checked the time code and there are no breaks anywhere near the in point”
…just wondering if you can remember whether you ever found a solution to this issue? The response you got in the thread seems to be about making a digital cut only, whereas your issue was more general.
    Many thanks!
    all the best
    Martin
