I do all of my video work on a Lenovo Thinkpad w520. It has two military certifications and is the only laptop that is approved by NASA. It’s fitted with 16GB RAM and a workstation GPU (Nvidia Quadro 2000M).

I run Premiere Pro, Edius, Lightworks and several transcoders on it. They all perform rock solid. Vegas Pro 11 64-bit (I refuse to run a 32-bit application in 2012) is by far the buggiest piece of software I’ve EVER run on anything.

After two extremely disappointing experiences with higher end Sony Vaios I switched over to Thinkpad and right now I’m thinking there’s logic to why Sony are struggling to make ends meet. They simply make lousy products.

I don’t see the point installing Vegas on another PC. I have the best laptop in the world right in front of me. I don’t want to install Vegas on one of my lower end PC’s just to check if it maybe is going to work on a lower end GPU.
