I disagree. A bit. It mightn’t effect FCP directly, but the Mac is always doing SOMETHING in the background that it needs to pull from disk and the SSD is noticeably faster. It does effect FCP when loading plugins, effects etc. A lot? A little? That’s relative. Enough so that I notice? Yes.I have a 2015 iMac with a 1TB SSD in one office and a 2013 iMac with a 3TB fusion drive in another and I know which office I prefer. OK, the 2015 iMac has a 5k screen as well…

Richard, when you say “someone manually logged the slide transitions”, what exactly do you mean?
BTW, I’m just starting editing of a 2.5 day event with PPTs and video of the presenters. Been around this block a few times…

Aussie zombie flick Undead (2003) was edited using Premiere by the Spierig Brothers. Effects were done in AE. A thoroughly enjoyable movie.

Just what I have, with a Pegasus R6 and two WD 4TB USB3 drives for Time Machines. Perfect combo.
Word of warning: you will plug in the 27″ Thunderbolt display, look at it and think “You are beautiful”. Then you will look at the 5k iMac’s display, and then look back at the Thunderbolt display and wonder what you ever saw in it 🙂

Similar setup (3 cameras), same problem. I’ve cut plenty of multicams before in FCP X and not had this problem. This is the first one I have cut in this version of FCP X.
I have 3 cameras, and have selected the audio from one of them. There’s either pops/clicks at a cut or ‘something weird’ with the audio, where it seems to diminish in loudness just a bit before picking up again after the cut.
I’m halfway through the edit, and I have now detached the audio from the video. Naturally the audio track cuts are still there and all have the same name, but the audio glitches are still there too. I have made no changes to the audio, nor added any filters or other effects.
This particular edit’s audio will be replaced by a professionally captured and mixed track, but I am hoping that the audio weirdness isn’t also reflected in any video sync problems.
