    hi
glad to discover this – i’m in un-nesting hell: i was advised at the beginning of this project to downconvert from HDV to DV then recapture once i got towards a fine cut (i was nervous about my computers ability to process HDV).

I’m at the recapturing step now, and one of the problems i’m having is that all my “subclips” are nested – therefore i can’t recapture them unless i manually unnest each and every one – i’m working from 30 tapes so that’s not a workable scenario.

question 1: how did all my subclips become nested to begin with? i never intentionally nested any of them

question 2: is there another way out of this besides the manual reconstruction of this entire project?

    thanks

thanks to all of you for your input – i’ve been manually changing the media start value to about 10:01 and that seems to work – and i’ve also been cursing the three editors who told me this was a good strategy to begin with.

    sigh.

    live and learn.

i’m having a big problem with subclips – but i’ll make a separate post about that

thanks again & all the best
