Can you precomp the shape layer then apply a hold frame there for the effects? Just a guess first stab w/o testing.

Ah, yes you are correct.

You’d have to use something like the zl_ExplodeShapeLayers script by Zack Lovatt (https://zacklovatt.com) which might be daunting in this case.

Ummm, Yup, only seeing X and Y values listed under both Anchor & Position. Have you enabled the 3D toggle for the layer? Betchya haven’t. Probably hiding.

With the comp selected, try hitting the F4 key. Toggle the 3D box on. Now see if your expression becomes happy.

Ya, Matt got back in a day or so. I went with the forum route initially as the question was about issues with their free FX Console plug-in.

Somewhere along the line, the compatibility information stated that it was OK with CS6. I always have to check things like that out first these days. But it isn’t as it turns out. So, I asked him to get that corrected.

No biggy, but it would have been nice.

I posted a simple question at the end of May regarding their own plug-in FX Console that Andrew was touting in several of his tutorials. Nearly 1900 views and not a single reply! I’d love to use it but it refuses to work. I suppose I could try the actual Tech Support route, but if they aren’t even responding to their Forum, I’m not overly confident they’d respond there either.

but it’s using bg areas to track & get the camera solve, so doesn’t help in your case.

I tried fiddling with this in Lightwave and while doable, a keyframing nightmare.

I had a similar project a few months ago where I had to change the eyeline in a scene. I didn’t need to deal with 3D space though; was able to do all in 2D. Even so, it was still problematic with sunglasses and fast, blurry head movement.

Well, if I think of some other option I’ll post.
