I’ve experienced the same problem with long-form recordings with 10.0.6. To bypass th glitch, I export (Share) a QT file from FCP X then create a DVD directly with Compressor. This seems to be a temporary solution until the issue is addressed in a subsequent update. The downside is that Compressor doesn’t take advantage of the GPU, so it takes longer to process files than FCP X.

  • Much of the speculation surrounding FCP X on this and other forums has begun to come across as either A) abject hand wringing; or B) trolling. Regardless, we’ll all see in due time – at which point we can make our own decisions as to move forward or move on with regadrs to Final Cut.

I agree both Trevor’s posts. I recently traveled across the country for a project and carried my HMC, lights, mics, related gear, and a monopod in a Petrol backpack without any security/airline problems. The pack does tend to get heavy when running to make connections though.

You can use Flip4Mac. It’s an add-on which will allow QT to playback WMV files, and has several upgrade paths you can purchase at a reasonable cost for other features you may need. You can find it here: https://www.flip4mac.com/wmv.htm
