August 22, 2012 at 8:36 pm in reply to: Jittery HDV Capture To Sony Vegas 12. Canon Vixia HV30 Via Firewire.I had a problem just like this; clips looked horrible when previewed and played on the timeline. However when I rendered out to high quality format it looked great! Try rendering some of it to see if you have a capture or a preview problem.

David,
hanks. I hadn’t planned on 3rd world, but I would like something mobile.. -
hi,
this won’t resolve your problem but might shed some light….in Search programs and files … type Regedit
when that comes up… type control+f .ogg
what’s under that tree? it should list what software you have that already rns .ogg (in my case audition and vegas).Right click .ogg … permissions. Who does it think owns the key?
Most odd

Hi,
I also think is the best approach. If the files are still there it is far better to track them down. Data recovery is a last resort only when all other methods were unable to find them.

Hi,
if “everything” works that is great!
But after a review of the web site it does not appear obvious that “everywhere” does data recovery. An option is to just google “file recovery software”. An interesting article is publshed here https://support.microsoft.com/kb/835840
but it is not written by MS. Nevertheless it is a good backgrounder.

Ouch 🙁
Perhaps the mods can address whether SV does this – I would be surprised if it did.
Meanwhile – did you look in the wastebasket to see if it is there? probably not. Then some nasty scareware makes files and folders hidden. However they would do more than one folder and ask you for money to recover it. Set folder options to show hidden files but … if the folder has been deleted don#t do much more on that machine and get some quality undelete software. There is a lot out there but but get plenty of reviews of whatever one you choose. -
I think the comment about ND filters is just as valid though 🙁
The only independent review I’ve seen so far is also critical of the lens cap (or lack thereof, but it was a preproduction model).

April 1, 2012 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Need advice on inexpensive second digital camerawell it does work; I took some HDV 1080-50i ( 25 fps Pal) footage into a match settings project; put a short 1080 30p clip in the middle and rendered to 24 fps BluRay. I previewed in DVDA and it all looked ok.
I imagine there was some loss of quality as you are throwng a few frames but vegas seemed quite happy with the mix.

April 1, 2012 at 6:16 am in reply to: Need advice on inexpensive second digital cameraI have a Sony Bloggie and it produces very good pictures. It fits your price range although it only comes with small memory card. To upgrade to a 16 Gig sd card can cost as much as the camera.
There’s not much to adjust, mainly the picture format. It is AVCHD, the color seems to be processed so the clips recorded seem to be “better” than when you recorded it. The clips edit well in svp 10. -

March 24, 2012 at 8:56 am in reply to: Convert 4:2:0 video to 4:2:2 mpeg2 video in conjunction with Sony Vegas-possible?Having said that, I browsed render settings and couldn’t find one that matches the original requirement.
Sony MXF offers a 422 Profile, but that’s probably of no help
