When you did the upgrade, did you let microsoft change your account to a microsoft account? or are you still on a local account?

did you manage to find the Settings file?

View > Windows Layouts > Default Layout ??

Have you got the very latest software? Plenty of free disk space on all relevant drives?

Has you drive layout changed recently?

Is this a new install ?

Was it all ok and then suddenly something happened? if so what was that?

I’ve tried to reproduce the problem but had no luck so far.

have you tried Sony Catalyst Browse? They just released an update so it will be newer than your camera (unlike the other tools you tried)
If it plays there, they have a Transcode option that may get it into a format that your NLE may like better.

Do you have just a small clip that you could upload? if you do I will have a look.

None of that will help if it is corrupt 🙁

Grazie, that is correct – nothing to do with Vegas.

Perhaps I should have said … Vegas does not do real-time but there are other products on the market that can do this. I suggested one such product.

I think “Color Key” is still there. They have moved it to the “Obsolete” folder in the later AE CC releases but it worked last time I tried to use it.

I suppose putting it in the obsolete folder is a sign of future intentions but think it s still there for now.

It is not too long. There are three parts, one is a good guide to filming green screen. The middle part describes how to get a good key. The technique is interesting, they show how to create a garbage matte using a simple key and matte choker. Then how to use Keylight to finish it off.
I tried it on the clip that was posted and it looked pretty good.

Hi,
when I hit this situation, at the suggestion of a helpful person in one of the Cow forums, I created a new clip containing only the content I wanted. So just Render out what you wanted from the clip. It adds complexity because you have broken the link to the original clip but then you can assemble your new smaller clips.

thanks, that explains it.
Although it seems to just “splice” xdcam clips together. Reading between the lines that mans no rendering. I would have liked that in Vegas from time to time.
