January 10, 2012 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Motion 5 making me nuts.. won’t export a template.Looks like it’s having trouble with the image sequence. You might try turning the image sequence into a movie in Quicktime and replacing with the the movie, then saves as an FCP X generator.

January 5, 2012 at 2:10 pm in reply to: Can you export with hidden layers visible in final product?Why don’t you “bake” certain complex groups by exporting just that group, and replacing the group with the baked movie? Motion can do this for you semi-automically using Export Selection and there’s an option to reimport into project in the export dialog. Once you’ve done this a few times, you should be able to then export the full project.

Put the mask on the group containing the image – then you can move the image independently of the mask.

Ivan, I think it’s expected behavior – I see the same thing. The overall Origin is still being respected, but the order for each “layer” is being shuffled – so you never get truly randomized animation. It would be a great feature request.
